Large rooms for meeting and comfortable common areas are important to help facilitate a recovery environment. These areas are available for family/friends to visit residents.

WHY DO I WANT TO BE AT SAFEHAVEN?

(A letter from one of our residents)

I have spent much of my life just existing. Besides the 4 years of sobriety I have always been in addiction so my lifestyle has been everything but stable. Safehaven to me represents a new life  free from the bondage of addiction. It offers structure and support but above all it means family and stability. This is what I have been searching for my whole life. It means a like minded family that understands my disease. It's my last chance at getting it right. In just the few weeks I have been here it's become home. A place I can go that I know is safe with people I can tell exactly what's going on and not be judged. When things go crazy in my world I have people who care about me and want to see me sober and to succeed in life.

They have shown me grace and mercy. They have loved me when I have been unlovable. For the first time ever someone was able to see the "real" me. To my amazement they love me anyway. I want to be at Safehaven because it's my family. It's Home. It represents everything that I have been desperately seeking with the drugs and alcohol. It means peace and serenity. It's my last chance at becoming a productive member of society. It's HOME! It's FAMILY. It's my SANCTUARY!! It's the start of a new chapter in my life where I am no longer a burden but a BEACON of Hope for others just like myself. It's MY SAFEHAVEN!

Reasons I Want to Stay AT Safehaven

I want to stay with SAFEHAVEN because I need structure. I need to be taught and guided in the right direction. I need to get a job so I can get my own place and get my kids. I want to be able to set a good examples for my boys. I need to be held accountable for things I do wrong. I've been in active addiction including Suboxone since I was twelve years old.

This programs helps you to be able to make good decisions that I need in my life. I want to be able to guide my boys in the right direction. I have to be the best I can so they can grow  from me and be able to do the same for their kids.

I stayed clean for 5 years on Suboxone . I know I can and just need to get my feet on the ground, There are so many things I want from this program.

My hygiene has gotten way better since being here. Chores get you used to keeping a clean house. These are a few things Safehaven Offers me. Leaning how to save money, pay bills and keep a job are just a few of these.

I need this programs so I can learn to become a productive member of society. I have to learn how to live the right way and with Safehaven I think I can!
